THE EXCHANGE CLUB OF COLUMBUS HAS BEEN SERVING THE TRI-COUNTY AREA SINCE 1946!
We are an organization that believes in a strong America, safe communities and unified people. To uphold these beliefs, the Exchange Club of Columbus is dedicated to serving the local community through various service and fundraising projects. Our organization has been in service to our community for more than 70 years. We are part of the National Exchange Club, an organization serving the United States of America for nearly 100 years. We meet two Wednesdays a month at St Luke Ministry Center on 3rd Avenue for lunch. We'd love for you to join us.
A message from Brenda Clark, our current Club President...
Welcome to the Exchange Club of Columbus’ web site. Our non-profit Club was established locally in 1946 and for 80 years we have been serving our community. We are a group of volunteers who are civic minded; service oriented and we are committed to making Columbus a better place to live.
We are a part of the National Exchange Club that was established in 1911 and has over 650 clubs and 20,000 members nationwide to include Puerto Rico.
Through our Programs of Service – Americanism, Community Service, and Youth Programs – members support activities that benefit youth, promote pride in our country, and honor military and public service providers, to name a few. Exchange’s National Project is the prevention of child abuse. Our Service to Youth programs include, High School Student of the Month and Student of the Year Awards, and the ACE Award program, which recognizes students who have overcome major obstacles while achieving an education. Our “winners” (to us they are all winners) can compete for scholarship funding at the Georgia District and National level.
We also actively participate in National Exchange’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) project, raising thousands of dollars every year for this worthy cause. The dollars we raise are distributed locally to ensure we do our part to stop child abuse.
How do we do all that we do? By conducting various fund-raising projects. These consist of our annual Foot Long Hot Dog Sale in October; our Pancake Jamboree in March; and our Golf Tournament in April. We also have other fundraisers like a Silent Auction.
Boy we are busy! But all for a good cause and all funds raised go back into our local community! We pay it forward and we are committed to making a difference.

Our History
Nationally -
The roots of the Exchange Club go back to the late 1800’s, with Detroit businessman Charles A. Berkey meeting regularly with other businessmen to exchange ideas and information about improving their community and their leadership roles within it.
In 1911, Mr. Berkey and his colleagues formalized their association by establishing the first Exchange Club. Two years later, businessmen in the nearby city of Toledo, Ohio founded a similar club. Two more groups of businessmen, in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio subsequently formed their own clubs with the same basic goals and principles.
In 1917, these four clubs were the first to be chartered when the National Exchange Club was founded as a non-profit educational organization. As it grew over the years, the National Exchange Club has established Regions, Districts, and Divisions, within which many hundreds of clubs have been chartered in the United States and Puerto Rico, with well over 22,000 members, all making a powerful and positive difference.

Locally -
The Exchange Club of Columbus, Inc. was established and chartered on April 27th, 19. 6. It operates within the Georgia District, Region 10, as a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization.
From its inception, our Club has been actively and significantly involved in community service project in the Columbus Metropolitan area. Anyone who has ever bought a foot-long hot dog at the former Chattahoochee Valley Fair in the Fall, or ate breakfast at our annual Pancake Jamboree in February/March is familiar with our major fundraising efforts.
In more recent years, we have been hosting an annual Golf Tournament. We appreciate your continued support of our fundraisers, and invite you to become even more involved by considering membership in our Club!
